I'm very excited to announce that I've been long-listed by Turner Contemporary for the Platform Graduate Award 2013.
The Platform Graduate Award recognises the achievements of Fine Art graduates in the Southeast. Each of the partner organisations, (Aspex, Portsmouth, Modern Art Oxford, Milton Keynes Gallery and Turner Contemporary) will each showcase the work of six to eight recent graduates through a series of one-week presentations or short group exhibitions over the summer/ autumn period. The graduates are selected from within the immediate geographical reach of the host organisation. Turner Contemporary will include graduates’ work from the University of Kent, University for the Creative Arts and Canterbury Christ Church University.
Twelve artists are selected to form a long list. From this list, six to eight artists are chosen to exhibit at Turner Contemporary 9 October – 10 November 2013. Two of those artists will be put forward as finalists, and their work will be judged amongst the best work from the other galleries to select a winner.
The winner will receive:
- A bursary of £2,500 (towards studio accommodation for one year).
- Mentoring and access to the Director and curatorial team of the partnering organisation throughout the year.
- There may also be additional professional development support offered by some organisations.
