A set of instructions directs the viewer to help themselves to a nail, do something with it, then post to Instagram using the hashtags #paintednails #neonnails or #nailart
Searching for these hashtags on Instagram generally results in images of painted fingernails. In this participatory work, the intention is to engage the help of viewers to assist me in disrupting the Instagram algorithm, drawing attention to how it directs us towards certain content which results in echo chambers and filter bubbles, limiting our exposure to diversity.
